New England Revolution

Suspended: Ali Adnan Kadhim

MAIN PREDICTION: HOME WIN
The New England Revolution saw their league unbeaten string grow to eight matches at four wins and four draws following their 2-2 away draw with DC United last weekend. The visitors pulled ahead early through Teal Bunbury in the fourth minute and then doubled their lead at the 32nd minute mark with a Carles Gil de Pareja strike. The wheels fell off after that though with DC United getting a goal back just before half time. Wilfried Zahibo was then sent off for New England with his second yellow card in the 63rd minute and they conceded the tying goal four minutes from full time. With 24 points New England is still outside a top-seven playoff spot in the East for the time being.
The Vancouver Whitecaps have now been outscored 9-1 in their past two league matches after being humbled 3-0 at home by Sporting Kansas City last weekend. The loss came on the heels of a 6-1 meltdown away to Los Angeles FC a week earlier. Vancouver allowed goals in the 24th, 56th and 91st minutes as their league winless streak reached six league games with three straight losses and a trio of draws. They remain at 20 points on the season from just four wins with eight draws and nine defeats while being outgunned 34-22. Their lack of wins and points means they won't make the Western playoffs without the aid of a minor miracle.
With the New England Revolution rolling along on an eight-match unbeaten streak in the league it is hard to bet against them. I'm going for a home win here.
SECOND PREDICTION: FIRST TEAM TO SCORE – NEW ENGLAND REVOLUTION
The Vancouver Whitecaps have scored just 12 away goals in ten league games and have opened the scoring in only three of them. I expect the New England Revolution to strike first.
HEAD TO HEAD
The teams drew 3-3 in Vancouver in league action last season. The New England Revolution has two wins, two draws and a loss in the last five league meetings.
