Match Time：10/10/2019 08:30 Thursday (GMT+8)
Although Santos will count with center back Lucas Verissimo this midweek, they have four new problems as midfielder Evandro got red carded last weekend and Derlis Gonzales, Felipe Jonatan and Soteldo were all called to play for their national teams.
Palmeiras have a name coming back as well, and it’s coach Mano Menezes, but they also have a problem caused by national squads as goalkeeper Weverton will be with Brazil during the next couple of rounds.
Injured/unavailable: Carlos Sanchez (thigh), Derlis Gonzalez (international), Luiz Felipe (ankle), Felipe Jonatan (international), Soteldo (international)
Injured/unavailable: Ramires (tendon), Weverton (international)
MAIN PREDICTION: DRAW
Last weekend Santos played well away and came back home after beating Vasco da Gama 1-0, which got them eight points behind the leaders and still dreaming of their chances of winning the title even though it won’t be that easy. With that win, though, they come from three unbeaten games having conceded only once during this run.
Even having been through a poor run that got them out of the first position and placed third, they are still one of the strongest hosts in the Brasileiro and lost only one of their home matches so far.
However, in the last four times they played at home Santos managed to get only one win, drawing half of those games, and now, missing some important players, they will not be at their best and Palmeiras will manage to hold them to a draw.
SECOND PREDICTION: HILO - HIGH
Four out of the last six matches Santos played at home in the league ended with three or more goals – the other two had two goals – and even though Palmeiras have a good defense this is a derby and we usually have more goals in them, which is why I think we will have three or more goals in this game too, leading it to a high score.
HEAD TO HEAD
Santos are facing Palmeiras for the third time this year and they failed to score in the previous two matches, losing one and drawing the other.
