Toronto FC managed to take three important points from the 401 derby as they kept a clean sheet away at the Montreal Impact with a 2-0 league victory last weekend. Alejandro Pozuelo gave the visitors the lead in the 61st minute and Jozy Altidore sealed the deal with a free kick goal in the fifth minute of injury time. Goalkeeper Quentin Westberg made several huge saves and posted the clean sheet while defender Omar Gonzalez made his Toronto debut. It was just Toronto's third win in the past 14 league matches to accompany seven losses and four draws. The points were crucial to Toronto's playoff hopes as they are now back in the thick of things in the Eastern race with 26 points on the year.

The New York Red Bulls earned a tough 3-3 league draw in Atlanta two weekends ago and then hosted New York City in the local derby in league action last weekend with seven goals conceded in their previous two league matches. The two teams went at it in the Big Apple with the Red Bulls coming away with a 2-1 win. They have 31 points in the league and occupy a top seven playoff spot in the East.

Toronto FC failed to score in two league games against the New York Red Bulls last year and although I believe they will score in this league match I think it will end in a draw.

Toronto FC and the New York Red Bulls shared just three total goals in two league encounters last season and Toronto has scored only three times in their past three league contests. I think this is going to be a low-scoring affair with a total of under three goals.

The New York Red Bulls won 2-0 at home and 1-0 away in the league last year.
