MAIN PREDICTION: HOME WIN
Union La Calera are coming off a disappointing 3-0 away loss to Universidad Chile the last time out, in a game where the midweek travel to Brazil against Fluminense certainly took a toll in terms of fatigue. Los Cementeros kicked off their season on a strong note, however, winning their first two matches before losing to Universidad Chile – including a 1-0 home win against Union Espanola in their home opener.
On the other hand, La Serena lost all games after three matches in the Primera Division since they surrendered a 2-1 home defeat to Cobresal the last time out and sit at the bottom of the standings with no points and just one goal scored after three matches. To make things even more difficult, they suffered a 1-0 defeat in their first away match of the season as well when they visited Curico Unido.
Despite the recent loss, La Calera are far better than their opponents on paper. They shouldn’t have issues to win here.
SECOND PREDICTION: HILO – LOW
La Calera’s lone home league match and La Serena’s lone away league game this season have both ended with only one total goal scored. Expect that trend to continue.
HEAD TO HEAD
La Calera have won four of their last five H2H meetings against La Serena (W4, L1).
